A couple weeks ago, I got out of my office and met up with a bunch of accountants celebrating the end of tax season.
Truthfully, while it’s fun, it’s also really hard for me to travel for work. There’s #momguilt, the coordination of the household before I leave, and not to mention the ever-rising cost of traveling anywhere.
And still…
I never regret it.
Every time I go to a conference or meet up with peers, I walk away with an unquantifiable amount of value - new ideas, new perspectives, new friends.
I highly recommend getting out of your norm and getting to an event this year. Any event. Find one that fits your budget or location and meet up with other accountants.
Jason Staats dropped this massive spreadsheet of almost all the events in the US this year. (Spoiler alert: not a single one in Idaho…whomp whomp.)
Here are the events I’ll be at, with some promo codes I found, if you want to join!
Launch Your Firm - May, Salt Lake City
I’ve not been to this event before, but it sounds small and perfectly niched for someone in their firm-launch journey. I’m probably a little past my timeframe for this type of event, but I couldn’t pass up a chance to hang out with accountants in SLC for 2 days.
Logan Graf shared a $100 off promo code (LATEBIRD) in his last newsletter and Ronnie Withaeger mentioned having some sponsored (free) tickets in this LinkedIn post.
AICPA Engage - June, Las Vegas
I’m speaking at Engage! I haven’t been to this event before, but I’ve been to similar sized accounting conferences in the same venue and have loved them for their sheer volume and variety of sessions and vendor floor booths.
Ticket prices are $100 off if you register before May 11th.
Bridging the Gap - July, Charlotte
I’m speaking here too! I went to BTG for the first time last year when it was in Denver and the vibe was spot on for me. The “small-ish” event felt like walking into a room of friends who get what I’m doing. I made so many great one-on-one connections here that I wasn’t expecting.
Unfortunately, I think the early bird pricing deadline has passed on this one, but still worth it!

Let me know if you plan to be at any of these! I’d love to grab a lunch table together!
Cheers!
Erica
