Process Documentation
A great question came in from Rosanne Garza after last week’s email and template:
(shared with permission)
I love this!! When we get busy, we forget about all the “going concerns” for each client and the impact it can have on our revenue. Thank you for sharing this. We are in the process of acquiring another firm and this sheet will help so much with all the new clients we will inherit.
Any tips on process documents? I need to create them before things get out of hand.
What a great idea, Rosanna! I didn’t think of that as a use for this template!
As for process documents, I keep mine pretty simple in Google Docs or Sheets (but that probably wouldn’t work for a bigger team and more clients - I only have 11 clients).
I really like Financial Cents for setting up workflows a team (or individual) can follow. No one pays me to say that. Two years ago, I went on a quest to find the best workflow tool (I demo-ed a lot) and I sincerely liked Financial Cents the best. I just ultimately decided to stick with my current Google Sheets system #ifitaintbroke
I also like Tango if you want a PDF of a process. This app makes it incredibly easy to capture screenshares as a picture and write out the directions for you. I use this for some of my more complicated QBO tasks that I’ve handed off to my bookkeeper.
Thanks for the question!
Cheers,
Erica
PS - Next week I’m sharing the BIG REVEAL of the platform I’ve been working on for us :o) Sit tight!
