Disclaimer up front: Nothing I’m about to write in this newsletter is sponsored, paid for, or was asked as a favor. I’m just telling you things I like in the industry.
Next week, on November 9th and 10th, is WorkflowCon 2026 hosted by Financial Cents. To my knowledge, it is the biggest and only-est full-sized virtual accounting conference…that’s FREE.
It’s honestly one of my most favorite events in the industry, because (1) it’s free and (2) it always has really good speakers and topics. This is not a case of “you get what you pay for”. You get WAY more than what you pay for…zero dollars. (I think I mentioned it’s free already?)
If I were less than 5 years in on running my firm, or even just thinking about running a firm one day, here are the sessions I would focus on next Monday and Tuesday.
Day 1:
Day 2:
To be clear, all of these speakers are very good. I just circled the ones that I think are highly relevant to the firms we want to run, by speakers I’ve heard talk about those exact topics (e.g., I saw Nayo talk about her onboarding process a few years back and she’s got a good one). Plus, the Cloud Accountant Staffing folks are just funny and good people, so I circled their session too. ;o)
Special shout-out to Gretchen Witthuhn and the whole Financial Cents team. I was lined up to give a keynote at WorkflowCon this year. (Contract signed and everything 😭) When I explained what had happened in my life and that I needed to back out, they didn’t bat an eye. I only received love and care in return.
In my opinion, any time you can put your time, money and energy behind companies run by good humans, it’s time, money and energy well spent.

See ya there,
Erica
